Do you think if the below changes were made it would then be worth it then? Note that all the floors will be black glossy this time.

The front room would be a study/reading room

Dining Room - Add some vintage/antique furniture

Kitchen - Add a touch of grey to the walls.

Bedrooms - simple yet elegant

The back lounge to contain books and a tv looking out to the garden.

And making room for some outdoor fresco dining.
