Home - City / Decoration

I do love a Paris city apartment. This one, designed by Philippe Harden, is quite special, found here. It just looks like the perfect city weeknight crash-pad - size, interiors and light. If you were greedy, you could want a terrace with a view?

This person is so brave to have painted their walls green and pink. I love it. I could move into this apartment as well!

For those who love the quintessential English cottage. Just look at this place. I would do anything to move here.

Here are some more examples of small kitchens where I have included links to where you can view more of the units/houses. They are worth exploring for other ideas and also the floor plans.

Crouch End Apartment

I have to say, I wonder if the kitchen is in the correct place. What do you think given my last posts? Would you have moved it to the front room or where the bathroom is? I think ether of these would be my preference looking at the floor plan, as then the bedroom could be moved to the back room with glass doors to create some privacy?

For my next Small Kitchen, it is an example from the TV show George Clarke’s Old House, New Home, Episode 3 of Series 1, the unit is St Leonards on the Sea.

As explained here - Ben had a mammoth task of turning a sea front building into a gorgeous home. The windows needed complete restoration thanks to a bashing from the sea and a remodel of the current layout to create a study with opulent themes in mind.

I like it as in complete opposite to the previous post, the owner here didn't have a large hallway, so instead put the kitchen in the front room to make the most of the light and views. They then could make a feature of the stairs in the hallway. They could then create a study from the back room. I like how the kitchen doesn't stand out, but quietly sits in the front room even though he wanted to create some grandeur.

A description from the designer is here.

It is also worth checking out the other houses on this series, as the transformations were all quite good. I also particularly like the period cottage in Devon, here and here
