Home - Decoration / City

For my next Small Kitchen, it is an example from the TV show George Clarke’s Old House, New Home, Episode 3 of Series 1, the unit is St Leonards on the Sea.

As explained here - Ben had a mammoth task of turning a sea front building into a gorgeous home. The windows needed complete restoration thanks to a bashing from the sea and a remodel of the current layout to create a study with opulent themes in mind.

I like it as in complete opposite to the previous post, the owner here didn't have a large hallway, so instead put the kitchen in the front room to make the most of the light and views. They then could make a feature of the stairs in the hallway. They could then create a study from the back room. I like how the kitchen doesn't stand out, but quietly sits in the front room even though he wanted to create some grandeur.

A description from the designer is here.

It is also worth checking out the other houses on this series, as the transformations were all quite good. I also particularly like the period cottage in Devon, here and here
