Does anyone watch The Block or Love it or List it Australia? I am the later, and have loved all the changes they have made to the houses. Neal Whitaker is the designer of the makeovers and has some credit to boot, being the former editor of Belle and Vogue Living.
Well, Neale recently sold his apartment in Sydney and the pictures of it are below. I love what he has done to a pretty plain white apartment box. If you can't buy a unit/house with character, this shows you how you can add it.
I particularly love how he uses the main bedroom as an extra living room, to make the most of the balcony, and how the main living area has been extended into the balcony area with furniture and plants.
For anyone who needs a second bedroom for visitors, I think this is how you should set it up, so you use it all the time and then just fold out a couch for when they stay over.
For example, check out this apartment. Wouldn't it be good if you put bifold doors on the wall to the living/dining area and had that as a snug with a couch and library, similar to what was done in Neale's apartment above?
